Tim’s Notes

*In this message I mis-remembered the reference of Joel 2:11 and mistakenly quoted it as the concepts of Joel 2:1 and following. Nonetheless, the point I was trying to make still stands, namely that the phrase, “In that day,” is often used in Scripture to refer to an era or an age rather than a literal 24 hour day. For example, Isaiah 4:1 – “And seven women shall take hold of one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; take away our reproach.” And the next verse, “In that day the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel.” In both of these verses, an age or era is in view with the word “yom.”

But man, it drives me nuts when I misquote a verse in a sermon. I guess that will keep me humble.
